The project will displace fossil fuel electricity generation that would have otherwise been provided by the operation and expansion of the fossil fuel based power plants. The project includes 107 turbines that will power the Karnataka state electricity grid within the Southern regional electricity grid of India. The project passes the additionality tests of the Clean Development Mechanism and the Voluntary Carbon Standard, including a financial additionality test.
