Green-e Program of CRS Announces Support "Green Power Options" Seminar: Series Presents Business Case for Renewable Energy
October 7, 2003
SAN FRANCISCO, CA: The Center for Resource Solutions announced its support for the Green Power Options seminar series organized by Green Power Magazine. The seminar series is designed to help public and private sector leaders learn about using renewable energy with an emphasis on the business case.
"High profile companies such as Kinko's, IBM, and Johnson & Johnson are purchasing renewable energy and know the benefits it can yield by stabilizing energy costs, reducing environmental impact and increasing positive public relations and recognition," says Gabe Petlin, Green-e Program Manager. "The Green-e Program urges other large and small businesses to attend the upcoming seminars and learn how green power can be as for good business as it is for the environment."
Launched in 1997, Green-e Energy is the nation's leading certification program that ensures that green power products meet strict environmental and marketing standards. Green-e develops these standards through a collaborative process with environmentalists, consumer advocates, utilities and energy experts, and verifies that the standards are maintained over time. The Green-e logo is a national brand businesses and consumers trust - more than 90 different marketers and utilities offer Green-e certified products in the US. To learn more about products available across the US visit www.green-e.org, or call 888.63.GREEN.
Green-e is a supporter of the Green Power Options one-day workshop featuring principal presenter, Kevin Hagen of Shuksan Energy Consulting. The series of seminars teaches businesses how to understand renewable energy options, compare products, identify environmental impact and calculate the financial returns and business benefits of using green power. Case studies and "lessons learned" are presented by organizations already using green power such as Kathy Loftus of Shaw's Supermarkets and Steven Strong of Solar Design Associates.
Upcoming dates and locations for the seminar include: October 21st, 2003, in Boston, MA, and February 3rd, 2004, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. For details on registration and more information see "Green Power Options" at www.greenpowermagazine.com.
