Call for Comments: Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia Market Appendices to the Green-e® Renewable Electricity Standard for International Certification
Beginning today, April 23, 2025, Center for Resource Solutions (“CRS”), an international NGO that has been creating policy and market solutions to advance sustainable energy for over 25 years, is opening a 30-day open stakeholder comment period on two new documents which will provide access to certification for voluntary renewable electricity and Environmental Attribute Certificate (“EAC”) transactions in Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia. Comments on these documents, the Thailand Market Appendix and the Peninsular Malaysia Market Appendix to the Green-e® Renewable Electricity Standard for International Certification (“International Standard”), are accepted through May 26, 2025. Links to both documents and further details are provided below.
Both Market Appendices will provide market- and region-specific criteria and the resulting Green-e® policies that apply. Market Appendices may contain criteria that are stricter than the minimum requirements contained in the International Standard and add additional criteria for meeting the intent of the Green-e® program.
Please note that Market Appendices to the International Standard do not replace any Green-e® certification standards that already apply to particular countries or regions, including the standards for Chile, Singapore, and Taiwan R.O.C.
Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback through an online questionnaire, linked below, that contains targeted questions about each Market Appendix. Comments are also accepted in any language via email at comments@green-e.org.

If you would like to reference the International Standard in addition, please see Green-e® Renewable Electricity Standard for International Certification—it may be helpful as the Thailand and Malaysia Market Appendices references specific sections and criteria of the International Standard.
As a part of the Green-e® Standard setting process, all feedback will be considered with the goal of developing final versions of the Market Appendices, which will be voted upon by the Green-e® Governance Board, an independent body of experts that represent major stakeholder groups. For general information on standard setting, please see Green-e® Standard Setting.
