Reporting Year 2025 Annual Verification Submission Timeline and Deadlines

Unaudited Reporting Forms are due Friday, February 27, 2026

Dear Green-e® Energy Participants,

We are excited to start working on the Reporting Year (RY) 2025 verification process with everyone! Please note the following updates and information about relevant state policy and the upcoming verification reporting process.

RY2025 Verification

  • Action Required: Unaudited Reporting Form due Friday, February 27, 2026. The Unaudited Report Form is also available for download on the Green-e® Energy Participant Portal. Please fill the form out and email it to verification@green-e.org. Feel free to contact us at this email address if you have any questions.
  • The Verification Timeline for certified sales made in 2025 is now available online on the Participant Portal. This document outlines various deadlines throughout the verification process, as well as fees associated with late submission (without a pre-approved extension) of audited verification materials for 2025 sales. The final deadline to submit an audited report to Green-e® Energy staff through the Verification Software is Monday, June 1, 2026.
  • Verification Software. For all RY2025 verification submissions, we will be using our verification software, which will function similarly to RY2024 with a number of improvements, allowing data entry through a step-by-step process and a bulk upload process for both retail and wholesale sales. If you first participated in the Green-e® Energy program in 2025, you will receive an email to set up your account ahead of the verification software launch. Returning participants can use the same credentials as last year.

All Verification documents and verification portal updates should be available for you to start entering data by the second week of March. Participants who have questions about the verification platform or need help with access should reach out to their Green-e® contract representative or Green-e® program staff at verification@green-e.org.

  • Training Webinars. Training webinar recordings will be available on the Green-e® Energy Participant Portal. There are currently videos on the participant portal and verification portal from RY2024, however, these will be updated as needed prior to the launch of the software in March 2026. These trainings are optional for Green-e® Energy participants, though highly encouraged for all participants, especially for staff that are new to the Green-e® verification process.

Auditors will have their own logins for the verification software and can find auditor-specific training materials on the participant portal as well. Auditors are required to attest to having viewed auditor training materials before they can submit a participant’s audited verification submission to CRS.

  • Tracking Attestations for RY2025 due. As mentioned in the RY2025 Timeline, Tracking Attestations from facilities that are registered in an approved electronic tracking system and being used towards RY2025 Green-e® Energy certified sales are due on February 17, 2026 if you would like the facility information to be pre-loaded into the Green-e® Energy verification software system. To submit a Tracking Attestation form or view a current list of approved facilities, visit CRS Listed.
  • Update your and your auditor’s contact information. If your organization has a new point of contact for the verification process this year, please let us know so we can be certain that they receive all necessary updates and pieces of information as they arise. Please send any new contact information to your Green-e® contract rep and to verification@green-e.org. Likewise, if your auditor has changed, please send your RY2025 auditor’s name and email address to us at the same address.
  • State Policy Reminder. This email pertains to the Green-e® Energy program’s annual verification process, and this process requires that various state programs be used properly. Please make sure you are familiar with the state-specific appendices in the Green-e® Renewable Energy Standard for Canada and the United States that apply to your Green-e® Energy certified sales, and with any deadlines and requirements within those or that are enforced by relevant state agencies. Such deadlines and requirements are independent of the Green-e® Energy program but must be met in order to meet applicable Green-e® Energy rules (for example, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality reporting requirement, which may affect generation across the WECC, not just in Oregon).

Guidance and any state-specific Green-e® Energy audit requirements will be included in the Green-e® Energy RY2025 Getting Started Guide, Annual Verification Audit Protocol, as well as any related Green-e® Energy Verification materials. Those materials will be available soon on the Green-e® Energy Participant Portal, as well as in the Verification Software.
