Green-e Renewable Energy Standard for Canada and the United States Updated to v3.2
Update includes updated guidance for Washington State supply
This Participant Advisory serves to notify all active Green-e Energy participants that a minor update to the Green-e Renewable Energy Standard for Canada and the United States was approved by the Green-e Governance Board. The current version of the Standard is v3.2. A redlined version of the standard showing these changes from the previous version is available at Green-e Energy Documents.
The previous version of the Standard (v3.1) introduced Appendix A.8 for Washington State that created additional eligibility requirements for some Washington supply in response to the state Department of Ecology’s Clean Air Rule. Due to a December 2017 Superior Court ruling, this regulation is not currently being enforced, and for this reason, Washington supply will not be subject to additional Green-e requirements at this time.
If you have any questions about this change, you can reach out to your Green-e representative, or contact us at info@green-e.org or 415-561-2100.
