2025 Green-e® Verification Report (2024 Data) Released
Report shows a 14% increase in certified retail megawatt hours over previous year
Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) released the 2025 Green-e® Verification Report (2024 Data), an annual, year-end report that aggregates reporting data from participants in three Green-e® programs—Green-e® Climate, Green-e® Energy, and Green-e® Marketplace. This year's report, which is compiled from data on certified sales in 2024, highlights significant market trends, including:
- 143 million retail megawatt-hours (MWh) reported from Green-e® Energy participants, an increase of 14% from the previous year
- Approximately 1 million retail purchasers of Green-e® certified renewable energy, including over 78,000 businesses
- Newer renewable generation is still driving the market, with more than half of the energy supplying certified products from facilities that are five years old or newer
- Renewable retail sales were mostly to Oregon, Ohio, and Washington, with the majority of supply from Texas and Oklahoma
