Green-e Climate Standards and Governing Documents

Green-e Climate requires that greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction products (offsets) seeking certification are sourced from projects certified by an Endorsed Program, that the company offering the product sign the Green-e Climate Logo Use Agreement and pay the applicable certification fee, and follow the Code of Conduct. Endorsed Programs are independent third-party GHG Project Certification Programs that meet the stringent requirements of the Green-e Climate Standard (below).

Sellers wishing to offer a Green-e Climate Certified GHG emission reduction product must complete the following forms:

• Green-e Climate Logo Use Agreement
• Appendix A: The Green-e Climate Application Form

  The Green-e Climate Code of Conduct contains the Ethical Guidelines, Certification Categories, and Disclosure & Verification Requirements that apply to sellers of Green-e Climate Certified Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Products.

  The Green-e Climate Standard details the governing principles for Green-e Climate, as well as the criteria the Endorsed Programs must meet.

  The Green-e Climate Protocol for Renewable Energy (Protocol) details the eligibility requirements for Green-e certification of GHG emission reductions from renewable energy, the methodology used to calculate GHG emission reductions, and other requirements related to tracking, prevention of double counting and double claiming, and verification. • Appendix F: The Green-e Climate Protocol for Renewable Energy Program Rules
  For sellers using the Green-e Climate Protocol for Renewable Energy as an Endorsed Program, Appendix F summarizes the certification and verification requirements.



• Appendix G: Green-e Climate Third Party Distributor and Web Host Enrollment
  To enroll a Third Party Distributor or Web Host in Green-e Climate, Sellers must submit Appendix G. Each Third Party Distributor must also sign a Third Party Agreement with the Center for Resource Solutions. Further information on the requirements and restrictions of Third Party Distributors and Web Hosts can be found in the Green-e Climate Code of Conduct.


• Appendix H: Green-e Logo Use Guidelines
  These guidelines provide detailed information on the appropriate uses of the Green-e logo for all Green-e programs.
