Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Certificate Product from U.S. Energy® Now Green-e® Certified

March 25, 2026 | Press Release

SAN FRANCISCO, March 26, 2026 – U.S. Energy, a U.S. Venture company, delivers flexible, full-service energy solutions across traditional fuels, alternative energy, and environmental credits. The company has earned Green-e certification for its “RNG Certificates” biomethane product, which is available to businesses looking to reduce the impact of their fossil fuel use, including emissions from natural gas consumption and transportation fuels usage. By offering this product to its partners, U.S. Energy is giving them another way to address their environmental and sustainability targets.

The RNG Certificates product uses renewable fuels certificates (RFCs) to transfer the environmental benefits to customers. RFCs are tradeable, market-based legal instruments that represent the environmental attributes of one dekatherm of renewable natural gas (also referred to as biomethane). RFCs allow users to claim the environmental benefits of fuel that is sustainably sourced, produced, and processed, without direct physical delivery. RFCs verify, track, and provide proof of origin for renewable fuels. They enable corporations and utilities to track progress toward their sustainability targets and regulatory obligations without major infrastructure upgrades.

“We are happy to be able to certify that U.S. Energy’s RNG Certificates product meets the highest standard in the industry for quality and consumer transparency,” said Jennifer Martin, CEO of Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), which administers the Green-e program. “Options like these exist in order to give companies a way to address the fossil-fuel emissions they cannot avoid, and are an important part of any sustainability goal.”

“The Green-e certification of our RNG Certificates product provides a solution for businesses with internal goals to reduce emissions,” said Allison Gladstone, Director of Business Development at U.S. Energy. “This product is well-suited for thermal applications, giving buyers a starting place to decarbonize their operations with an audited, third-party verified partner. We’re proud to offer a trusted, transparent way for companies to purchase renewable energy and make meaningful progress toward their sustainability targets.”

Green-e® Renewable Fuels is the leading certification program in North America for biogas and renewable hydrogen, providing consumer protection and quality assurance for commercial and residential customers seeking fuels with lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions. Green-e® is administered by Center for Resource Solutions, a nonprofit based in San Francisco that creates policy and market solutions to advance sustainable energy.

Revenue generated from the purchase of certified RFCs can incentivize the development of new biomethane projects, and help build the market for renewable fuels.
